RNG Heroes Beginner Guide: Your First Five Minutes

The first five minutes of RNG Heroes are mostly about not wasting rolls. The game does not publish an official beginner route, but the AllThingsHow upgrade-order guide, the AllThingsHow progress guide, the NerdsChalk gold guide, and the Earnaldo codes guide line up on a tight set of first actions. The list below is the union of those recommendations.

Step 0 — finish the intro tutorial

The tutorial is short but mandatory: the Shop, the Codes section, and most menu buttons stay locked until it completes. Earnaldo, MobileMatters, and the AllThingsHow codes walkthrough all confirm this gate. Until the tutorial is done, you cannot redeem codes or join the group bonus through the in-game Join button.

Step 1 — redeem codes in the recommended order

Open the Shop from the right-side buttons and scroll to the Codes section. The five high-confidence codes from the codes status page are the priority. Recommended order:

1. Beginnings — 10,000 Gold + 1 Assassin Hero.
2. EasyPotions — 1 Roll Speed, 1 Size Luck, 1 Gold, 1 XP Potion.
3. Batteries — 3 Golden Batteries.
4. BossUpdate — 1 Abyss Reaver Crate (apply after the BOSSES update unlocks).
5. 30Thousand — 3 Gold Potions.

Step 2 — join the Heroplay Studios Roblox group

The official description says liking the experience and joining the Heroplay Studios Roblox group grants a permanent +10% Gold and +1 Luck on the account. AllThingsHow, NerdsChalk, and the RoUniverse review all confirm the buff. This is the highest-leverage free action in the game; do it before any rolling session.

Step 3 — equip the Assassin

The Beginnings code grants an Assassin hero outright. Equip it immediately: it outperforms the default 1-in-2 Warrior pull and lets the opening biome clear significantly faster. Keep auto-roll on; the community recommendation is to set auto-roll to delete Common (Warrior-class) heroes once the team is full so the inventory stays clean.

Step 4 — buy the Luck upgrade first

The hexagonal upgrade tree exposes a Luck node with a first-purchase cost of 200 Gold per the AllThingsHow upgrade-order guide. Multiple guides use the same 5,000-Gold-on-Luck-then-roll example: spending that Gold on Luck before pulling 50 heroes visibly shifts the gacha distribution toward higher tiers. This is the single highest-payback opening move the community agrees on.

Step 5 — reveal the Player branch and buy 3 Hero Slots

Open the Player branch of the upgrade tree to expose Luck I and Luck II, then buy the 3 Hero Slots node (~300 Gold) for an immediate damage boost. More equipped heroes mean more parallel damage, which means faster Gold and faster unlock thresholds.

Step 6 — park the team on the Starter zone

The Starter biome is calibrated to drop steady Gold without overwhelming a fresh squad. Do not rush to Dark Forest (6,000 Gold entrance) or The Beach (100,000 Gold entrance) until your active roster is full of Rare-or-better heroes and your kill time on the current zone is well under three seconds per enemy. Hoarding Gold is itself a common mistake flagged by NerdsChalk: Gold in the wallet earns nothing.

Step 7 — turn on Offline Loot as soon as the Loot branch unlocks

The Loot branch’s Offline Loot I node is the only upgrade that banks coins while the game is fully closed. AllThingsHow and the Earnaldo gamepass guide both emphasize unlocking it early. The x2 Offline Earnings gamepass at R$299 doubles the passive stream for paid players; the free path is to keep ranking the Loot branch nodes (Offline Loot, Loot Collection, Loot Magnet, Loot Value).
